ABOUT

I am a high school student at Chadwick School dedicated to helping those faced by the autism spectrum disorder. Having had a variety of experiences and opportunities volunteering to help and serve those with autism, I realized the need to take action in order to address the issues with autism within our society. I felt empathy not only toward those with autism but also toward those directly impacted by those with autism.

The website was built with the hope of raising awareness of autism spectrum disorder. I have compiled various information regarding ASD for people to be more informed with the disorder, which can be seen in the "Resources" tab and the "News" tab. Furthermore, under the slogan "Stronger Together," I created a communication network, the "Talk Lounge," for people impacted by ASD to sign up on this website and be connected and supported by each other.

WHAT EDWARD J PARK HAS DONE

Community Service at CLU

Throughout my high school years, I volunteered at an educational facility called the Center for Learning Unlimited located at Torrance, California for students with diverse intellectual disabilities. I was able to build relationships with lots of friends with ASD and be a huge support to the students at CLU.

About: Who We Are

Volunteer for One Friend

For years, I have been volunteering for taking care of one student with autism named J*** that I met at a church. Upon J***'s parents' request, I have taught J*** some of the basic Korean and English language. As I built a relationship with J*** for a long time, I became J***'s close friend.

Artwork

Motivated and inspired by my experiences with those with autism, I used my artistic talent to create diverse works of art to convey my ideas. Some of my works were displayed in an exhibition at an art gallery in Los Angeles.
